About the Project Logo
The two ravens that hang out around the Eclipse logo are Hugin and Munin. In Norse mythology, Hugin and Munin are a pair of ravens that fly all over the world, Midgard, and bring the god Odin information.
Odin sends Hugin and Munin out at dawn, and the birds fly all over the world before returning at dinner-time. Then the ravens tell Odin everything they see and hear and as a result, Odin is kept informed of many events. When not flying around they sit on Odin's shoulders and speak to each other.
The Norse names Hugin and Munin roughly translate to “the thought” and “the mind” which is a perfect fit for Code Recommenders. Munin is responsible for reminding everything it has seen in code before and Hugin is responsible to make sense out of the information wealth Munin has to offer and to create recommendations.
