You can hide all jars in pkg explorer:
- In the Package Explorer, open the view menu and select "Filters... "
- unselect "Libraries from external"
- unselect "Libraries in project"
- hit [ OK ]

In addition to the advice Michael already provided, I'll suggest that
you look at the Java Browsing perspective. I find it much more efficient
to use for navigating Java projects than Project Explorer, especially
when I attach a Navigator view as a Fast View for quick access to
non-Java files in the projects.
Hope this helps,
Eric

Thanks for your reply. I was looking to hide the jars in the "Project
Explorer" and not from the "Package Explorer". (The Project Explorer is
the default view for the Java EE perspective.)

I see that the jars aren't visible in the project root of the Project
Explorer when starting a dynamic web project. The project of the picture
was generated by JBoss Seam-gen, so that might be the problem of all the
jars being visible in the Project Explorer.
