Does OCL 6.19 / SimRel 2023-12 disable OCL ValidityView? [message #1862533] Sat, 09 December 2023 19:25 Go to next message

I just updated to SimRel 2023-12 and OCL 6.19, Sirius 7.3, Acceleo 3.7.14, XText 2.33. I wanted to move to a 'stable' state where dependencies between major packages have already been addressed/ cleaned up. My goal is to generate an Eclipse product.

With the 'cleanliness is next to godliness' thesis in mind,, I have:
* done a
mvn clean
to clear my Maven cache.
* created a new workspace.
* regenerated my XText projects with the current version of XText.

Before I create the product, I'm trying to test with a Runtime Configuration that has everything from my current workspace. One of the things I'm trying to do is OCL -> Load Document and then evaluate the OCL against my model. I can successfully load an OCL document - I can see all the 'include'd OCL files being loaded in my first Eclipse console window. However, I don't see anything in the ValidityView.

Previously, I've had to close the ValidityView and reopen it (never more than twice) to get it to refresh and load the OCL against the model. But now that doesn't seem to work, no matter how many times I close and reopen it. I see neither the model nor the OCL invariants (both sides of the VV are blank).

I'm still exploring this. I need to backtrack to my prior Eclipse/Workspace combo to see if it still works there. I haven't yet compared the Eclipse installations to see how they differ. I'm posting now just in case there is a known issue / as a heads up to anyone else who might run into this.

When I know more, you'll know more. I can post any details about my configuration/ installation deemed potentially relevant (How do I extract the plug-in list from Eclipse? It has to be in a file somewhere - I'd rather not post a gazillion screenshots.)

Hi

Thanks for reporting. Nice to know someone uses the ValidityView. (If you care to raise a Bugzilla with constructive/reproducible comments on the ergonomics something might happen.)

The broken ValidityView for 2023-12 should be fixed in

http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/download.php?file=/modeling/mdt/ocl/downloads/drops/6.20.0/N202402151734/mdt-ocl-Update-N202402151734.zip

and next week in the 2024-03M3 build.
