Hello everyone,

I am trying to use the Eclipse Installer to implement the environment setup directions described here:

https://github.com/Systems-Modeling/SysML-v2-Pilot-Implementation

On step 5, the installation instructions mention the ability to select Catalog: GitHub Projects to add a user component to pre-built packages like EMF. All I can see on the dropdown after Catalog is <User Product.>

The Installers come as a standalone executable but do I need Git configured on my Windows environment or something?

Windows 11
Eclipse Installer 2021-12 R 1.23.0 Build 5278

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bjorn

Did you 'click the "+"' as instructed? You have to actually added it in order for it to appear. Also you mention <User Product> but you should be on the Projects page. The instructions would be simpler if it told you to draw this link:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Systems-Modeling/SysML-v2-Pilot-Implementation/master/org.omg.sysml.installer/SysML2.setup

and drop it onto the Github Projects object to add it to the Github Project Catalog. Their setup seems to assume you must use ssh to access their clone...

Ed,

Thanks for the quick reply. I did hit the "+" but when I do the drop-down dialog for catalog is populated only by the <User Product> item as shown in the attached screengrab.

Thanks,

Bjorn

See that the page you show is titled "Product"? But the page shown in their documentation shows Projects:

https://github.com/Systems-Modeling/SysML-v2-Pilot-Implementation/blob/master/oomph-projects.png

So you did not complete step 4 on the Product page such that for step 5 you are on the Projects page.

You should suggest to this project that they create a Configuration like what you can see for this project:

https://github.com/eclipse/windowbuilder/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md

Then all the steps they describe could be automated, e.g., including the choice of the Modeling product. I can help them if they ask. They can also ask to add their project setup to the Github catalog so that you don't need to add it manually, but they need to ask (i.e., open a Bugzilla to request that).

Aha. You brought me to my facepalm moment. I glanced ahead to the "+" icon on the page and did not realize you needed to advance the dialogs with the Next button to transition from Product to Project.

Thank you for the newbie assistance.
