This forum is about the Eclipse Scout framework. We are happy to help you with questions directly related to Eclipse Scout, but we cannot answer general questions about Java or JavaScript programming, Node.js, Npm, Pnpm, Webpack or HTML, LESS, CSS development. If you have questions about these topics, you can find help in other forums.

Please check the following points before posting here:

  • Is your question directly related to Eclipse Scout?
  • Has your question been asked before? Please use the forum search to look for similar topics first.
  • Describe your problem and explain what you want to achieve.
  • Show what you have already tried and what you have found on the net.
  • Give us some context and include this information in your post:
    - The exact Scout version
    - The exact versions of the relevant platform and runtime components like browser, Java, Tomcat, Node.js, Npm, etc.
    - If you run into an error: Include the error message and the stack trace.
    - If you have a GUI issue: Add a screenshot.

Regarding stack traces: Before you make a post, analyze the stack trace first. Java stack traces are often quite long and intimidating. Try to find the root of the problem by following the chain of "Caused by:" messages in the stack trace. By looking at the package name in the stack trace, you can see, if the error is caused by your own code, by Scout, or by some other library. This will help you narrow down the problem.
