HI,
I went through the Eclipse Scout tutorial. I need to know how can I connect my application with MySQL or Maria DB instead of Derby database.

Could you please advise me on how can I achieve that?

Regards
Senaka

Hi Senaka

I assume that you refer to a Scout Classic application (Java). The following tutorial should still be more or less acurate: https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/1082997/
Basically you need two additional dependencies in your server module, one for the mysql driver and one for the Scout SQL service (AbstractMySqlSqlService).

Regards,
Beat

Hi Beat,
Thank you for the reply with the correct guide. That simple example helps me a lot to understand the pattern.

I tested on PostgreSQL DB also and it works fine.

Sorry for the late reply. I switched back my Eclipse Scout project 2 days ago.

Regards
Senaka

can I ask you why you use this particular language if there is a more improved one?

May I ask you why you use this particular language if there is perfect? For me, the main task of learning programming is to understand which language and plugin will help me the most. I need to know at least a little about other options to do this, but it would take too long to study everything independently, and I don't have enough time. So far, my favorite is the mysql visual studio plugin, but I would like to learn about other options. Please answer and tell us what you work in and why precisely in this or that program. I will be very grateful to you, thank you in advance
