Eclipse in Automotive

From the early years of AUTOSAR, Eclipse has been the platform of choice for the automotive industry. 2009 saw the creation of the Eclipse Automotive Working Group, with members like BMW, Bosch, and Continental cooperating on an automotive distribution of the Eclipse IDE. Now Eclipse technology -- especially Eclipse modeling -- is ubiquitous in the industry.

The openMDM Eclipse Working Group began in 2014, and supports an ecosystem of open, standardized, and vendor-independent tools and systems for measurement data. Key members of openMDM are Audi, BMW, and Daimler.

Recently, the Eclipse Foundation joined the Amalthea4Public research project as a full partner. The goal of A4P is to improve software engineering for embedded multi-core systems.

In this newsletter, you will find an article about Eclipse in Automotive and two articles focusing on Almathea4public and Artop.

Be sure to participate in the Great Fixes for Mars competition to help improve the Eclipse platform for the Mars release and you could win a new Android tablet. Next deadline is April 1.

Enjoy,
